Wix vs Squarespace (Best Website Builder 2020)
Squarespace or Wix? If you are starting a website, this is likely to be a very important decision for you. Both are powerful and popular among website owners, but what is different about them and which is right for you? In this video, I answer that question for you simply and clearly.
Squarespace:
Wix:
Review Summary:
1. Website construction:
Wix is based on a drag and drop setup while Squarespace is more oriented around a grid system in which you can insert items. While both work well, the Wix system seems to be more intuitive and similar to what many are accustomed to (i.e. similar to the features seen in Microsoft office products, canva.com, etc.) Wix also offers more customization as a result of this style as well. Rather than being limited to a grid, Wix allows you to make your site look EXACTLY as you want it to!
2. Price:
I cannot tell you which is cheaper because depending on when you watch this video, Squarespace may be cheaper than Wix or the other way around. What I can say however is that it is important that you check to verify the price is the monthly price, paid monthly vs the monthly price paid annually. This is a tricky little thing that the site builders do!
3. eCommerce:
As far as ecommerce goes, both website builders are very capable but Squarespace generally has a few more tools, including gift cards, custom receipts, and more of that sort.
4. Blog:
I really like the blog features and layout on Wix, but Squarespace is famous for their blog capabilities. Depending on how large you want your blog to become, it may be worth it to check out WordPress.Org as a blog site (and have it hosted with Blue Host, Host Gator, or Siteground.
5. Styles:
Wix has more templates and allows for more customization for each one, but Squarespace still has quite a few templates! Overall though, if you want a professional personalized website, Wix is a clear choice.

I never commenttttttt on videos butttt: After being a Squarespace and Wix user… I can tell you I stay on Squarespace, just for the simple reason of responsivity. Wix has a lot of breakpoints and responsivity problems, So for more professional websites, I would not recommend it. you need to code, and stuff. On the other side Editor X is in the Beta face, which it also has responsivity problems, It will be a powerful tool definitely, I'm excited to see it! But not yet…. And for the "free trial of Squarespace" That's not true, you actually get 15 days. Which is Pretty good for building. As web designers, we design offline and then jump it to the platform in a few hours or few days. at the end of the day, the most important thing when building a website is RESPONSIVITY and MOBILE :). And Squarespace is really good at giving statistics of traffic way better than Wix.
Wix is a good website builder but all I ever get for 190 euros a year is contacts from idiots with crazy email address and under subject the same, their SEO is not as polished as Squarespace in my mind. Squarespace has maybe slightly less to offer but the back end as far as SEO and spam etc is better
I no longer need my job because of, p a i d t o b e h o m e .c o m
Can we link our wix to social media set it as a ad?
What other website builders would you recommend? Preferably that have modern templates and friendly drag-and-drop builder?
I would like to know if Wix would be better for me, I want to make a page where only within cities near me and local pickup is available…because I hate posting tons of pictures and writing all the info again and again threw all the major places like facebook market and offerup and letgo and 5mile. I want to just make a site with all the things I am selling and just link people to the page and they can message me from the site because I will add my facebook messenger and then we deal with the sale there on the messenger. Another thing would be if I add a new product I usually have one or two of and then it gets sold so my question is can I delete the product with Wix and how many product images with prices can I put and can I do all this with just the free version?
I had a Wix site but they doubled my fee each year so I cancelled it.
wix rocks the hell out of SS. Been using it for years now and its improvements over the time are a thing to notice. They do care on making things better for the creators (not there is nothing left to add or modify), but trully recommended.
Problem with both is slow code. A slow website is a bad website. For very very simple websites wix is good for any level of complexity or detail don’t waste your time
What os beat for a youth soccer club? Registration, invoicing, summer camp, about us, links and contact.
Not interested in results, schedueles bla bla… That stuff is already online in the leagues webpage.
I want a clean, cool, good for sigh up regular season and summer camp but modern, clean looking.
Hey good folks!— I just got rid of “ GoDaddy” and am starting a new website to advertise and give viewer opportunity to purchase my products which I will have to mail out from home— but GoDaddy only had “ PayPal” ability for customer and I want to build a website where people can use the option of their credit card and I can can email them confirmation – which of Wix or Squarespace have any of you used to do the same and have you had any problems?—/ thanks for your knowledge and experience ….
My daughter is started her first online business, e-commerce beauty products, 10-20 skus max and she's thinking of adding subscription services in a year after launch. Which one is best for that?
Is a members' area included in both of their basic plans?
Great review 🙌 thanks so much ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Just finished a portfolio site using Squarespace. It definitely has its limitations, but it was really straightforward to use.
Which is better for affiliate marketing?
Very helpful! Thank you! And subscribed.
if I start with wix can I switch over to squarespace in a few months?
It’s really tough for a Wix site to perform well in the search rankings. I’d recommend building on WordPress if you’re not comfortable programming yourself and Squarespace if you’re short on time and looking for a WISIWYG editor.
Hi, what do you suggest – WIX or HostGator? I want to make a creative blog
does non-premium version of wix support adsence ???
Wix is the best
Very Informative and good explanation. Thank you very much.
Super informative video
I advise no one to use WIX. I had to report them to the Better Business Bureau. They also took $251 from me.
I am trying to decide between both and it’s really really difficult to choose. I am trying both and both are great, but so far, Wix has some better tools but squarespace has better templates.
very good content! It looks like Wix might be better choice for real estate agent website.
Great tutorial by the way. I am adjusting and structuring a lot, and not focused on blogs, but will be posting articles on the side.
I notice Square Space supports a lot of artists to promote Square Space. I have only used Wix, and thought of switching over, however see that the only disadvantage so far with wis is that the load time for Wix seems slower, however, worth it perhaps? I need products sold, memberships, and media stuff.
As for price, if one is $5.00 cheaper, I could care less. ha ha. I've been using Wix for three years. I'm also used to using Wix, but yeah websites load slow for some reason. If anyone knows why, let me know?
I pay 16.00 USD a month
I wish you could change your template without having to start the ingredients again. 😉
I actually used to self host on WP org platform… built w Elementor pagebuilder , on WP Ocean templates…. Because I no longer had time to manage the site as in fixing plugins that breaks down w updates and dealing w back end security issues …. AND I couldnt afford to hire … Wix has been the perfect trade off for me … sure there are flexibility issues and little bit mobile seo drawbacks but WIX gets my vote
Both are great. But Wix has more customisation and design freedom. The only reason I don't use WiX, and it is a BIG reason, is because it is just too slow on mobile, especially when you add a blog or eCommerce. It is unacceptably slow and laggy. It is a problem which has persisted with WiX for years, and they are likely never going to fix it. I would strongly suggest you do not use WiX, especially with more and more users migrating to mobile only web browsing. I would also strongly suggest you do NOT use WiX is you are not a good web designer. I guarantee you will make something hideous but think it looks good. Trust me, it doesn't, you are just happy with yourself that you have made your own website and are proud of it, whilst it looks incredibly amateurish and unprofessional. You should just use Squarespace as everything is already designed and set out in a professional way, you can't really mess it up.
LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH!!! IT DESERVES LIKES AND SUBSCRIPTION!!!
thank you! this was super helpful!
Elementor is better than both of these
Squarespace's customer service is almost non-existent. You are on your own to figure things out. At least with Wix you can set up calls. Also I find Wix's templates higher quality than squarespace.
Wix are on top of it. Literally got a Wix add on this video 😂 so are they the best 😂😂
Actually you can work on a website for 2 weeks in squarespace without having to have it be live and even after you are a paid subscriber you can hide your site for search engines no problem.
How do six sites translate to mobile and do they have mobile settings and customization? Squarespace creates mobile sites right out of the box.
I used Wix for many websites and I am very happy with it 🙂 Thanks for the good video!
I love Wix. The new “Editor X” is really powerful.
what about godaddy versus squarespace?
best website explainer video on youtube- guaranteed
Do not use wix!!! wix cost me almost 1000£. Before setting up my wix payments account to begin accepting payments I called wix to check the eligibility of product for sale on wix. I was assured that my product was eligible and that I wouldn't have any issues selling it on my wix site and that I could start sending products out. After sending out almost 1000£ worth of products wix then took it upon themselves to close down my account and refund all my customers without notifying me of any issue, even after they guaranteed me that everything was okay and that I could proceed. I have emailed wix but haven't received any response. I do not recommend using wix.
TEAM WIX 👏🏾LES 👏🏾GO
Have your tried Siteupp?
I got wix ad
Thanks ♥️👍
Love Wix I have used them for almost a decade now… They constantly adapt and improve.
You just know who got paid by which company. Man….
