Gtfoh. It’s because they want to generate hype so that it causes the market to go up. Why tf would people who already have a shit ton of money to spend on NFTs need an NFT to make connections? They already have alternative better means of that. Plus they would only be making connections with those who own the NFTs so it’s like a secret club or cult.
They buy them because they see them as investments. And how do you make something that’s worth nothing into something? You over price it and create hype.

If you can’t make connections on your own a fuckin jpeg isn’t going to help you. If I somehow came into a bored ape I might have access to the club, but I’m not gonna be handed anything. The only people who get anything at these clubs will be people who already had connections in the first place. The bored ape NFTs are just there as a form of subscription fee.
