There's a Crypto Miner in Norton Antivirus

my thoughts on the crypto miner that was added to Norton Antivirus.
TLDR its a scam, use literally any other crypto miner.

    You don't overclock to mine.
You underclock to have greater stability and longevity of your miners.

Hey Mental, lately a process called Antimalware Service Executable has been unstoppable. Do you think micro&soft dick also put a miner in Windows Defender?

I like how they give you the option to turn it off, like thats their way of making it look not as bad. Like "Yeah we put in this awful cryptominer that actively destroys the enviroment but you can turn it off if you want, please don't immediately uninstall our anti-virus we promise its not a scam"

Reverse engineers will just patch and replace the mining address in the app. so all of it comes back to them. Then distribute norton to people. You see, norton should stop stupidity. Coz hackers get an easy time distributing the patched app. Just my thoughts, don't know if it can happen. Or am i dreaming?

Lol, I am an avid PC builder and help my friends with budget builds or just insane builds. They always ask which anti-virus to go with. I ALWAYS tell them… the one that comes with your windows 10 OS. The rest are bloatware or just extra shit running for no reason.

Edit: I tell them to generally stay away from unknown websites anyway and if you want to browse a little wildly to go with a phone and a VPN. Not condoning it just trying to keep them from blowing up their new PC's.

This if its not clearly stated it can be considered stealing, clearly, we essentially pay for electricity and machines being degraded/decaying overtime.

I always thought someone could make a video game that is completely free which has a miner in it legally and then that would technically pay for its costs of maintaince and perhaps keep people working on the project to develop it further. (Think of video games which are hard to maintain such as MMORPGs)

A better idea is to offer free subscription as long as you let Norton use your GPU at down time
