If someone pitches you on a “great” Web3 project, ask them if it requires buying or selling crypto to do what they say it does.

This is very well put together and took me from a neutral stance to a negative stance against NFTs.

The value of this video is overshadowed by the numerous inaccuracies and misinformation it shares.

The fact that ad sense is suggesting crypto ads to this video of all things is hilarious to me

1:04:09 Lmfao I'm dying, those devs are smoking some serious cryptocrack. I'd never trust a game dev with anything to do with my finances.
Shit, I barely trust 2K and Gearbox with my favorite series: Borderlands 🤣🤣

One thing I never understood is why people latched onto Apes as pfps. Do they just want to convey that badly that whole scheme is just Monkey See Monkey Do?

    This video is….. art.

I cannot think of a better word for it; not only do you hit each point of issue and every key matter of salience and consequence, but you weigh pros and cons in a way that is—somehow—both presented in an objective manner, but also in such a way that you also express your personal thoughts & commentary on the manners you discuss, and the "why do you think that?" and other anticipated, logical answers to anticipated questions that might be raised in opposition to your opinions, and you clearly delineate all of this with exquisitely clarity, an unpretentious air that all add up to the sum of a video that deals with a complex issue plainly, in an accessible manner to even the most uneducated of your audience now understand what you are sharing.

To be honest, out of all the many videos I have watched in attempt to parse out all this tomfoolery, this was the video that has finally elucidated everything to me; and it has done so with such eloquence that has, I think, escaped/been saved from the fate of most all other videos that I've seen that earnestly attempt the same thing, but instead fall into specific traps of groupthink and buying into the deception themselves so much that it actually serves to undo and undermine their entire message…. even to the degree that they appear to be summoning their video scripts from some kind of void that contains the deepest, most awful of far-left, antifa-bro vibes, stuck in a blender and reshuffled with the added ingredient of the crypto wikipedia topic keywords, randomly generated NFT bro jargon, all slathered as a skin to smugly conclude with baffling, unhelpful and illogical summative statements that are either so far off the mark they are totally irrelevant, so jumbled that there is no conclusive statement, or that they just fall back to the naïve "power bad, enviroment cry, profit???", which just simplifies the nuances of this whole topic, aka the ratking of internet hell, to the point of oblivion (which I can only assume they get away with because either the video was so meandering, confusing, illogical, padded out with completely irrelevant dross, or simply that the length of the thing made people fall asleep and autoplay their queue. And that's just the ones who finish such drivel; most people would click out because they don't want to have some turd of an attempt to explain this "Internet Ratking Hell" that is the crypto/nft space melt their brains and have it dribble out their ears before they realise they have no need for cryptocurrency or following the dystopian market of buying pixels and ideas in their real life… but that's just my take).

Your whole premise is that "these things exist for the sole purpose of incentivizing you to buy crypto" which is like saying "Apple made the iPhone for the sole purpose of making money" which may be true, but many people benefit from the existence of iPhones and their use cases. Your argument is weak. Just because you don't find value in the use of iPhones excuse me NFTs doesn't mean that they're useless. Please do more research.

Things NFTs do: Verifies digital content

If you're ignorant enough to believe that you have thought of every possible use case for them, please keep being ignorant, your reply is discouraged.

This video gave me depression. I knew NFTs were terrible, but this is a bit too much. The worst of all is all of this cesspool of selfishness, malice and deceit is done at the expense of burning trillion tons of carbon in a planet that is already majorly overdrafted in its gas emission quota. I mean even if you don't want to have anything to do with all this stupid crap, you'll still suffer some of the consequences. That is so unfair to be honest.

1:16:41 Splice editing is hard cringe. In a NFT way of course. Dan is literally making money off hype yet complaining about it. 100% he is trading crypto on the sly.

He makes a really essential point about the increasing complexity of technology when he talks about websites. I've worried that for a long time.

I would say I was generally skeptical of cryptocurrency, NFT's, and "decentralized finance" prior to watching this, but… holy shit, have all of my worst fears about this new digital frontier crystallized into a diamond-dense constellation of "NOPE".
