I do not think skins or whatever digital items NEED to be NFTs. The thing is most games today have microtransactions and offer useless digital items which you cannot even sell like fortnite skins for example… if I would pay for digital items like skins or whatever I would want to be able to sell them later on which is why I think NFTs might not be such a bad idea but the question is also if the technology is even needed because games like csgo also have a marketplace and you can trade their skins and make money without blockchain technology.

I'd be interested to hop on a call with you Biaheza and talk about NFTs. Should be fun. Most of your points are 100% correct, with "99.999999999999999999% of NFTs being absolutely worthless" being 10000% correct. So close that'd I'd want to say 100% but there are some projects that are actual real projects that have a future and are being ran correctly.

There is a future for NFTs most definitely, just right now the infrastructure isn't there. You can think of it as the very first computers. They were the size of rooms, houses, whole buildings, and were EXTREMELY expensive. To most of the world, they were useless and meant absolutely nothing because they were so out of reach. The same thing is for NFTs at the moment. Until the infrastructure is built and developed properly, we won't be seeing major growth and market adoption for NFTs.

People who can't see a future for NFTs in games lack imagination. You talk about not wanting in game gear as NFTs, fair point. But that's not the only way they can be integrated into games.
I have one vision that I could see working very well. You know how you can buy homes in GTA V Online?
Well, imagine if you could, assuming Rockstar would allow it, add a jukebox to your crib(hopefully not by spending money), and then you could add songs from some of your favourite artists that you got as NFTs to play in your crib. That would be amazing as it would add a huge amount of personalization to the experience.
If you can't see NFTs potentially working in video games you are either not thinking hard enough or you are too cynical.

Thats why people need to search up our company right now and realize that we provide MORE then just a jpeg. Anyway, youre right It gets confusing knowing where to invest your money, how to do it, which things to choose timing, etc etc. We are a utility NFT solving that problem with live product that checks off all that.

Hi. I really liked your video, and I think that you're making some solid points. But in the overall picture I don't agree. For me, the part that you're missing, the novel thing about NFTS is not the art itself or the utility, but, the OWNERSHIP of that asset. It's not about saying this is beautiful, but being able to say, this is mine. When you buy an NFT you're not even buying the piece itself, you're buying the tag that says the piece it's yours. So, being able to say I own this, in a digital landscape, is what NFTs are all about. Sure, there are and will be, a lot of scams, and overall, people using this principle to do harm, that's a part of our human nature, but you really can't say that this is the standard. And about the quality or the utility of NFts, you really couldn´t judge for example, cinema based on the filmmaking capacities when in was in it's enfant years. Thanx for the space.

Agreed with some of the points but some weren't accurate… I'll point out these first
    – alot of layer 2 are gasless, so why build a gaming NFT on top L1 where it cost a fortune to transact when you can build on top of stacks, polygon and immutableX and they cost close nothing.
    – NFTs applications will vary beyond art, nowadays art was the most obvious use case but digital ownership and smart contracts are needed for remotely anything and the next 3-5 years will prove that point.
    – almost 98% of projects are going to 0 that's guaranteed but also the %2 and more projects are coming to provide real value beyond just the hype and cash grabs, look for builders and solid communities and you'll be guaranteed to make it.
    – invest only what you can afford to lose and encourage those around you to do so, that way you don't need to go work for McDonald's if shit hit the fan.

Thats pretty much my 2 cents and always DYOR folks

here's what I knew about NFTs in the first 5 minutes of finding out what they are: they are worthless nothing – collectibles like Elvis' jacket he was wearing when he schtooped some waitress in Tuskaloosa, Alabama in 1959 has a collectible value 1000 times its actual value, which is a jacket when it's cold or raining – NFTs have a collectible value than is infinity times its actual value, which is nothing, because it has no material being, has no function, can only have value if you give it such or convince some other braindead that it has… duh

Somebody should make a video game and sell nft’s for control and ownership of each character, something like that. Like you own the character and that gives you special privileges within the game and ability to see everybody playing the character and be able to make money somehow off the character. I’m not a gamer so I don’t understand the microeconomics of it all but somebody who does, take this idea and run with it.

Great video, I appreciate the objective view. There are a lot of sentiments that I agree with that 99.9% are garbage and that .1% are actually working to create fun new experiences that integrate web3. Development takes time and the model to keep utility a mystery creates to value so we just have to wait and see.

Another pro nft gaming argument it's a good one, i guess

You could create a system that would not extort more money from players than they already do and use NFTs in at least 2 ways: profits, in-game utility. How would that look? We'll wait and see (probably).

Secondly, it could do something else for the beginning. Instead of trying to make this thing a money machine, they could just start going after secondary markets of games.

Such as players who buy items off of eBay for games, or from in-game stores.
Just remove friction in the process and have a database forever. Also skins ofc.
Probably there are more things that would work in the future for this.

But as you said, the regulations will start coming and create a framework for all these new types of potentially taxable, innovating new ideas.

Gaming and nfts is meant so that you actually own your items so you can sell them and trade them outside of their centralized platform. Also if you get banned u can create a new account and just continue playing with the assets.

NFTs have been created for a variety of purposes. Incidentally, some of them address specific problems, such as the Mona Lisa Coin, which is designed to encourage people to protect artwork online.🤔😁
