All i need is a good after effects alternative that does not use a subscription. Not free, every free video editor ive usd has basic features and limited effects and features which is not useful

Honestly, without the ability to group video and audio together in the editor I find it very hard to edit anything. Yes you can do this by creating a group but you can't see waveforms, or use effects – at least you can't do audio effects on a group without ungrouping and then finding where you made your original cuts and then making the effects, ugh. Was hoping to move on from kdenlive to this, but as buggy as kdenlive is, I can edit a million times quicker. Just gotta save a lot before it crashes.

I use blender for 3D stuff and havent went into the video editing yet. Im doing a multicam podcast with my friend (not on the channel im commenting from this isnt a plug lmao) and i want a good workflow and just basic stuff like zooms and stabilizing (for them funny stabilizing jokes) I downloaded hitfilms and something about it annoys me, ill keep working though, but if blender can do what i need ill just stick to that. Havent downloaded resolve yet but im going to try it out and see if its more comfratble to use. I also am making a funny short film for a secret santa gift (im poor) and need color grading and tracking so i can input cgi into the live action clip. Im a super beginner but so far im thinking using both blender and divinci would be best for me. Idek if im asking a question lmao just looking for some insight

Can you remote render and does it take plugins from the ofx standard. Resolve is giving me nothing but issues at the moment

There is a MASSIVE difference between what a feature can do and how useable it is in practice.
Many video editors share the same funcitonality in terms of features,
but they greatly vary in usability and workflow, which imo is a very important sapect of video editing

Hey, can anyone help me. I used Blender to make a few gaming videos and I bought a Subcribe animation which came as a high res green screen mp4 file but couldn't figure out how I could position this in my video and remove the green screen (essentially video over video).

Watched so many videos and the only ones i've seen show how to replace a green screen with a still image which is not what I need.

I asked the creator of the subscribe button how and he would not help.

"it is very stable and powerful. The video sequence editor is very powerful and stable as well." sounds like a sentence I would put in a set length essay XD

Honestly blender is fucking horrible for video editing. from my experience it just sucks. it doesnt save properly, playing the video somewhere thats not the start will have different outcome than when you play it from the start. its just not consistent i fucking hate it

I guess one day blender will have EVERY possible thing you need for production. From mocap to sound design there'll be everything.

Draw concept art, make layout, make and rig characters, make a scene, capture animations and voice, lipsync it, render it out, post process it, glue everything together, record/compose and mix some music, draw a poster/cover. Done.
Really tho, is VST support and audio recording the only thing blender is missing?)

My short experience with Blender VSE was absolutely miserable. It struggles, if not outright refuses, to do simple tasks like correctly transforming images larger than the canvas and changing font (although that last one is apparently a bug that will probably be fixed in the next version, or so I hope).

I'm almost considering using another part of Blender to edit videos, because the software much likely has all the capabilities there… it's just not translated well in its current form.

I'm planning to switch to blender editing, everytime I go to blender then edit the file at premiere. I forget all the shortcuts of premiere which is a big waste of time pressing the wrong buttons 😢
