Olive is a BIG NO! Yes, that exclamation is just to remind you that Olive is a developing video editor. I did try it. Initially, I didn't experience any problems, but at one point the software just shut down for no reason and I had to work on another software all over. The software is not a BAD ONE though… I'd say It has like 5% of the features of a complete software… It surely has a long way go I guess and it's not ready for use. However, you can check it out.

Using one of these programs; is it possible to take an existing video, that was not shot against a green screen, and substitute a different background image?

Fa vinci eats up my computer's resources badly. You need an extremely good computer for it to do some things.

Kdenlive for Windows has a very limited subset of effects and transitions compared to gnu/linux version… Load / save management quite buggy aswell

Sorry for this I'm a little late, new to the site, and this may not be the correct place for my question. I can't find the TJFree video on how to download Kdenlive for my old windows 8.1 32bit. version.
I've downloaded 2 versions each time my system tells me it can't run that version. Thank you very much Mr. E

Kdenlive didn't work for me but I guess it was over 10 minutes long (not by much but still). I recommend signing in before editing anything, otherwise you have to process the footage twice to get the watermark off.
